Each week all students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to wear their GREEN Honu

t-shirt to school on GREEN Wednesday!  The class with the most participation wins the banner for the week.

 

We not only show Honu PRIDE on campus by wearing our GREEN t-shirt but also off campus when attending field trips, events, competitions or island trips.

 

If you would like to show your Honu PRIDE by purchasing a GREEN t-shirt or two, stop by the front office or contact us.

Kailua Elementary School staff and faculty are committed to promoting a positive learning environment for all students. In order to do this, we implemented a reward system a few years ago called Positive Behavior Interventions Supports or PBIS. 

 

Students are able to earn Honu Bucks by showing PRIDE at school when behaving in the classroom, at recess, in the hallways, and at lunch.  They also earn bucks by having a Positive Attitude and showing Integrity.  

 

Positive Attitude Respect & Responsibility Integrity Do Your Best Encourage Others

 

All staff and faculty distribute Honu Bucks however they choose.  The students are able to use their bucks at Honu Hut - a school store filled with goodies.  

Honu Hut is held every other week during the students' recess time. There are different days for each grade level and rewards can vary according to the amount of Honu Bucks.
