Aloha! My name is Kapono Lopes. I'm from Kaua'i and I was a boarder at Kamehameha Schools. After I graduated in 2015, I officially moved to Oahu and started my new journey in music. I first began performing professionally at PCC, and now I'm a musician for Tihati Productions and various luau across the islands.

For this year's music class, I'd like to teach the students songs of Hawai'i and its ocean life. In my class, they will be playing ukulele and singing and because of the limited time I have with them, I also offer an after-school ASAAP class where they can also learn Hawaiian styles of playing slack key, ukulele, steel guitar, guitar, and bass. But no worries if the students aren't interested in Hawaiian music, for those who'd like to learn different styles I will accommodate to their interests!
