Aloha and Welcome to the Counseling Department!

Elementary counseling attempts to help all students find

success in their education. 

 

Mission Statement

Using a character education program called Second Step, it is our goal to encourage students to demonstrate positive core ethics and values. It is our hope that students develop the skills necessary to become productive and caring citizens in our community. 

 

We are here to help students with:

  • Working out friendship problems

  • Setting goals

  • Working well with others

  • Feeling good about yourself

  • Adjusting to a new school

  • Learning how to make decisions

  • Managing your feelings (stress, worry, anger, etc)

  • Dealing with peer pressure and bullying

  • Attendance

  • Become Career and College Ready

  • Develop and Practice Honu P.R.I.D.E.

  • Provide a safe place/person to talk and be listened to

 

We are here to help parents with: 

  • Exploring ways to help your child succeed

  • Family adjustment and concerns

  • Improve communication between parent and student

  • Collaborate with school staff to best support student

  • Individual counseling

  • Group Counseling

  • Parent Consultations

  • Community Resource Referrals

  • PSAP

  • Monthly Guidance Lessons
