The Kailua Elementary School Cafeteria provides nutritious, well-balanced breakfasts and lunches daily and abides by the Hawaii DOE Wellness Policy.  

 

The menu is sent home a week before the end of the month in the Thursday folders and available here.

 

SCHOOL MEAL PRICES:  

Breakfast   $1.10    Reduced    $.30      Adult $2.40        

Lunch        $2.50    Reduced    $.40      Adult $5.50

Milk           $.60

 

MEAL ACCOUNT MONITORING

The eTrition system - EZSchoolPay.com will allow you to prepay your child's breakfast and lunch meals with a debit or credit card, monitor the account at your convenience and provide you with low balance alerts.  Click on the button to set up your account online and be sure to have your child's identification number listed on their report card under their name, ready for this process.  If you have trouble click on the button for instructions or call the front office. 

 

IF you are depositing cash into your child's account, please stop by the front office and fill out the lunch account envelope.  

 

Your child's personal barcode will be scanned when they are ready to purchase a meal or milk.

PARENTS

We enjoy having Parents join their child(ren) for breakfast or lunch, however, please give us at least 48hours advance notice so we can plan accordingly.  You will need to stop by the front office to pre-pay in advance.

 

 

MEAL SUBSIDY PROGRAM

The Department of Education participates in a federally subsidized meal program.  If you wish to apply, fill out an online application at ezmealapp.com for Free and Reduced Price Meals.  An income criterion is used to determine eligibility.  Please look over the application, and if you feel that your child will qualify for the program, fill out the application. If you choose to fill out a paper application, return the form to the school.

 

The subsidy applies to meals with the milk included.  However, if your child brings a home lunch, he/she must use their meal account if they wish to purchase lunch. Milk for home lunches is not covered under the Federal subsidy.  The school will let you know whether your child:

a.  Qualifies for a free lunch and breakfast

b.  Qualifies for reduced price lunch and breakfast

c.  Does not qualify for free/reduced price lunch or breakfast.

 

If your child qualified for the lunch subsidy program for the year in Hawaii, you have 10 days to reapply for the subsidy.  Subsidies must be renewed for each school year.
